The 36 Australian retailers we link to.
We do not sell anything. When you click through, you are buying from one of these, under their terms. So we read all 36 shipping and returns policies in one sitting and wrote down what each one actually says, including where they contradict themselves.
Checked 3 September 2026. That third number is the one that costs people a gift: a window measured from the day you buy can close before the box is opened. The full comparison.
Which retailers offer free shipping, and from what spend?
20 of the 36 publish a threshold. The rest are listed with their threshold below, and the comparison table sorts them by it.
Which retailers refuse change-of-mind returns?
5 of 36: Gourmet Basket, Whitworths Marine, Liquor Loot, RetroSales, Booktopia. A faulty or misdescribed item is a different matter: that remedy comes from Australian Consumer Law and no store policy can remove it.
Which retailers start the return window on the day you buy?
9 of 36: Adrenaline, Tennis Only, ClassBento, Gray-Nicolls Australia, City Beach, Greg Chappell Cricket Centre, Gozney, TackleWest, GolfBox. For a gift bought early, that is worth about a fortnight less than a window counted from delivery.
Which retailers have published a Christmas 2026 cut-off?
None had, as at 3 September 2026. Retailers usually publish theirs from late October. Until then, the delivery clock’s allowances are the honest estimate, and the retailer’s own page beats ours the day it appears.
All 36, with their delivery and returns terms
The catalogue links to 39 retailers and 36 of them are above. The other 3 publish no delivery and returns policy we could read in full, so there is no page for them rather than a page of guesses: Amazon Australia (83 picks), eBay Australia (81 picks) and Ozpig Australia (1 pick). Their products still carry a checked price and a dated card, and the retailer’s own terms apply at checkout.
