Who publishes this

The business

Dad Gifts Australia is a registered business name of ETP Consulting Pty Ltd, ABN 36 211 950 299, ACN 601 830 120, based in the Redlands in south-east Queensland. Both registrations are public and can be checked on the Australian Business Register and with ASIC.

The site is not a shop. It holds no stock, takes no payment, ships nothing and has no customer accounts. It is an editorial publication about gifts, and every transaction happens on the retailer’s own site under the retailer’s own terms.

How it earns

Affiliate commission, disclosed at the top of every page. Where a tracked relationship is approved with a retailer, a purchase made after clicking through may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.

Commission is never an input to the order products appear in. Each page prints the rule it sorts by directly above its grid. The site also publishes a page of gifts it recommends against, including some that would pay it, which is the simplest available proof that the recommendations are not for sale.

How the recommendations are made

Every price is read off the retailer’s live product page and printed with the date it was checked. Nothing is taken from a category tile, a cached listing or a price comparison feed, because those drift.

Products are researched, not tested. Nobody here has personally used most of these items, and saying otherwise would be a claim Australian Consumer Law takes seriously. Where a judgement is made about a product it is reasoning from specifications, from the category, and from what the item is for, and the reasoning is written out so you can disagree with it.

What it deliberately does not do

• No sponsored placements. No retailer can pay for a position, an inclusion or a better write-up.
• No fabricated reviews, star ratings or testing claims.
• No advertising, no remarketing, no audience lists sold to anyone.
• No categories where a readable, verifiable price cannot be obtained. Cycling and motorsport are absent for that reason and are named as absent rather than quietly skipped.
