Who runs this site
Dad Gifts Australia is operated by ETP Consulting Pty Ltd, based in the Redlands, Queensland. Contact hello@dadgifts.com.au. These terms are governed by the law of Queensland, and the courts of Queensland have non-exclusive jurisdiction, which means you are not prevented from bringing a claim wherever the law otherwise allows.
We are not the seller. This is the important one.
We do not sell anything, take payment, hold stock, pack a parcel or arrange delivery. Every purchase you make is a contract between you and the retailer whose website you are taken to.
Your rights about delivery, returns, faults, warranties and refunds, including your consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law, are against that retailer, under their terms. We are not a party to that contract and cannot change, cancel or refund an order.
If a retailer is giving you the run-around, tell us anyway. We cannot fix your order, but a retailer that treats buyers badly should not be on this site.
How we make money
We intend to earn a commission when you buy through some of the links here. The commission is paid by the retailer out of its own margin. It never adds anything to your price.
It does not decide what appears or in what order. Commission is never an input to the sort. The rule each page uses is printed above that page’s grid, and the sort itself is kept in the source code so it can be checked rather than merely asserted.
Prices
Every price shown is the retailer’s price, read off their live product page on the date printed on the card. Prices change without notice and we do not control them.
The retailer’s own checkout at the time you buy is what governs. If you find a price here that is wrong, tell us and we will correct it, because a site that publishes prices has to be corrected constantly.
Delivery estimates
The delivery clock is an estimate built from published lead times and stated assumptions, not a promise. It assumes a metropolitan address and it cannot know a particular retailer’s dispatch cut-off. The retailer’s commitment and the carrier’s performance are what actually decide whether something arrives.
The assumptions and their limits are set out on the delivery page.
Age-restricted products
Some products written about here are alcohol, and some have a cutting edge. Both are sold only to adults, and both are sold by the retailer, not by us. The retailer verifies age at checkout and, for alcohol, again on delivery.
You must be 18 or over to use the alcohol sections of this site. We do not sell, supply or deliver any of it and we cannot verify anyone’s age.
What the content is, and is not
The recommendations here are researched editorial opinion. We read the retailer’s product page, form a view about who an item suits and why, and say so. We do not claim to have physically tested most of what is listed, and we say so on the method page.
It is a considered starting point for a decision, not professional advice about your particular circumstances.
Links to other websites
When you follow a link to a retailer you leave this site. We do not control what is on their website, what their terms say, how they handle your personal information or how they treat you as a customer.
Our content
The writing, taxonomy, delivery engine and the list of gifts to skip are ours. Retailer names, logos and product images belong to those retailers and appear only where their terms permit it.
Liability, and the limits on limiting it
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, which includes loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of data, loss of goodwill and business interruption, arising from your use of this site or from anything you buy from a retailer you found through it.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where a right cannot be excluded, it is not excluded. Any limitation above applies only so far as the law permits.
We do not ask you to indemnify us, and nothing here is intended to shift our own responsibility onto you.
Changes
These terms were last updated on 29 August 2026. If they change materially, the date changes and the previous position is not applied retrospectively.
Still being reviewed
These terms were drafted against the Australian Consumer Law provisions they cite, and a Queensland commercial solicitor is engaged to review them alongside the delivery and disclosure pages. If you are relying on something here in a dispute, tell us and we will get you a straight answer rather than pointing at the page.
