The barbecue dad is the easiest man on this site to buy for and the easiest to get wrong, because he already owns the obvious things. He has tongs. He has a thermometer he does not trust. What he does not have is the specific tool that fixes the specific thing he complains about, and he complains about the same thing every time.
Listen for it. If he opens the lid every ten minutes, he needs a probe that reports to his phone. If the outside of the meat is finished before the inside, he needs a way to run two heat zones. If he talks about the weather, he needs a cover. The gift that lands is the one that answers a sentence he has already said out loud.
Nobody plans a gift in advance because nobody remembers the date until it is too late to post anything. We will email you before Father’s Day and before Christmas, with the shortlist already narrowed and the delivery window still open.
