The dad who has cooked one good brisket and cannot reliably repeat it
What it is
Two probes, a receiver that works to about 500 feet, and preset temperatures by meat and doneness. Listed as TempPro, previously sold as ThermoPro, so the box may carry either name.
Why we picked it
Two probes is the difference between a thermometer and a useful one: he can watch the meat and the chamber at the same time, which is the whole skill of slow cooking. The remote means he stops standing over the lid opening it, and opening the lid is what actually ruins a brisket.
