The dad who drinks whisky at home and still pours it out of the bottle. Not the collector who wants the label on show, and not the household where it would sit unused.
What it is
A Bohemia Crystal decanter with matching tumblers in the Madison cut, supplied in a gift box. Bohemia is the Czech crystal house, so this is cut crystal rather than pressed glass. Sold new by an Australian glassware seller.
Why we picked it
A decanter is the rare gift that is used in front of people, which is most of the point of it: the bottle goes in the cupboard and the decanter stays on the shelf. Cut crystal is worth the difference over moulded glass because you can see it and feel it in the weight. It also solves the problem of buying for a dad whose whisky taste you do not know well enough to buy a bottle he does not already have.
