The dad who washes the car himself every second Sunday with one bucket and a sponge
What it is
A seven-piece Bowden’s Own set built around three buckets with dirt-trapping inserts, one each for wash, rinse and wheels, plus the wash media that go with them. Sold new from Sydney with free postage and returns accepted.
Why we picked it
Nearly every swirl mark on a car was put there by its owner, by dipping a dirty mitt back into the same bucket. Separating wash from rinse, and keeping the wheels out of both, is the whole of the technique, and the dirt traps are what make it work rather than just sound sensible. It is the thing a man who already washes his own car will be pleased to be given, because he suspects he is doing it wrong and has not wanted to buy three buckets to find out.
