What it is

A hot air balloon flight over the Hunter Valley of approximately 45 to 60 minutes, followed by a champagne breakfast at Blaxland Inn. Digital photos from the flight are included. Adrenaline lists the total experience at approximately 1.5 to 2 hours including briefing and breakfast. The page shows the price reduced from $299.00.

Why we picked it

This is the gift for the dad who is impossible to shop for because he genuinely wants nothing, since it is not an object and it cannot be re-gifted or shoved in a cupboard. Balloon flights launch at dawn, which sounds like a drawback and is actually the point, because it produces the one photo of him that everyone will keep. The champagne breakfast turns it from a one-hour activity into a morning, and the Hunter is close enough to Sydney to do as a day trip or stretch into a weekend. Note that he has to stand for the whole flight, which is the detail people forget to check.
